Condition
Postpartum Mood & Anxiety
Support for the mood and anxiety changes that can follow childbirth. They're common, highly treatable, and never a measure of how much you love your baby.
Signs you might recognize
Does this sound familiar?
- Sadness, tearfulness, or numbness that lingers past the first few weeks
- Anxiety, racing thoughts, or intrusive fears about the baby's safety
- Irritability or anger that feels unlike you
- Trouble sleeping even when you have the chance to rest
- Guilt, or a sense that you should feel happier than you do
If several of these resonate, it doesn't necessarily mean a diagnosis. It's still worth a conversation.
How I treat postpartum mood & anxiety
My approach.
Postpartum depression and anxiety are medical conditions, not personal failures, and they respond well to treatment. We'll talk through what you're experiencing, your history, and whether you're breastfeeding, since that shapes which medications make sense. Several are well studied in nursing parents. I handle the medication side and will help you connect with therapy and support, coordinating with your OB or midwife when that's useful.
